    WOW! What an event!!

Monday, June 9, 2008, 05:34 PM CST [General]

I went to the Twin Cities Bridal Association's Trend Wedding 2008 on Friday night.  I got to be there when the couple, Jessica and Gary, won the 100 thousand dollar prize wedding.  They were so excited - the bride was shaking like a leaf!  I brought my camera but didn't want to be intrusive on the ceremony so let me try to paint a picture!

The room in the Metropolitan Ballroom where the ceemony took place was all soft white.  The walls and ceiling were made of white chiffon.  The floor was covered in white carpet, the chairs were all clear with each guests name printed on the back.  At the front where the bride and groom stood was a mirrored pedestal that held a gorgeous peacock ice sculpture.  The feathers of the ice peacock were made up of delicate white flowers and albino peacock feathers (flown in from paraguay or something!) that cascaded to the floor.

I sneaked a photo of the other guests through the mirrored pedestal!

You can see the albino feathers among the flowers....

Here was my seat!...My name and the wedding design that echoed throughout the evening were on the back rest of the chair.  Cool!

    Here is the pretty program...

Chris Atkinson sang and played guitar.  Very sweet.

A clear lucite table of these candles were on each side of the ice sculpture.  They looked like they were floating.

When Jessica, the bride, came down the aisle to the music "Fairy Dance", she looked unbelieveable!  She looked like a fairy herself (she is a tiny thing)!  When she came down the aisle you heard this musical tinkling...it came from the crystals that were dangling from her bouquet and make the whole moment seem really magical.  Just when it couldn't get more fantastic there was white FOG that drifted into the room and swirled around the feet of the wedding party!!

This was projected onto the dance floor in the Metropolitan's Night Club room for the reception.  Pretty!

Then, during the champagne, an aerialist came over and performed for us!  Very Cirque du Soleil!  I just hope my camera flash didn't blind the poor thing!

I met very the fun Nicole at the wedding.  She was fun to talk to.  Tony & I also had big fun eating with the Pastor Joe Anderson and his wife Jennifer.  They were young and funny.   They have some amazing stories to tell!

Here I am with evil red flash eyes toasting the bride and groom with my diet coke.  There were chic comfy little places to park yourself with cool pillows right across from the bar.

The same crystals in the bride's bouquet were on the lamps on the dinner tables.

And then, my camera batteries died!

I took this photo the next morning...we all get this goodie bag gift as we left the reception for the night!  (yes, I ate all of it myself!)

If you watch the video you'll be able to see more awesome stuff, including the incredible chocolate raspberry wedding cake unveiled in a special red room that looked like the inside of a velvet jewelry box!  And the super cool coffee lounge after the dance with the really good live band.  (I couldn't stay that late....I'm getting too old...but I did sneak a peek at the coffee lounge before I left.)

It was such a cool wedding I told my husband I want to get married again!

It is our 5 year anniversary this July 26th, afterall!  Hmm.....

    Minneapolis is Neat!

Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 05:05 PM CST [General]

I love the art deco style of the old KSTP building!  Tony & I were driving around and I couldn't resist taking a photo.  I don't think there is anything occupying the building now besides dust and fond memories.

Here is an example of why you need to get your KS95 Window Sticker so you can win the G6 Convertible!  I snapped this shot of my husband driving my convertible as we were leaving Minneapolis after having dinner downtown.   Travel is more of an event when you have an open top.  It's exhilarating!  I want you to have the same feeling that I get!!

Do you see the Ghost? Do you believe?

Friday, May 30, 2008, 03:02 PM CST [General]

(You can make out the fingers of a hand on the railing. )

This misty figure was captured by 14-year-old, Connor Bond, at ancient Tulloch Castle. The castle is in the Scottish highlands and is famous for its ghostly residents.

The apparition was snapped by accident while the boy and his family were attending a wedding at the castle.

It's a photo from a digital camera so you can't accidentally double expose the shot and Connor swears there was no one around at the time.

The family only noticed what they had captured when they downloaded the image on to their computer and saw the ghostly hand on the stair rail and a swirl of mist around it.

She is believed to be the ghost of Elizabeth Davidson, whose family once owned the castle where her portrait hangs in the Great Hall.

Tulloch Castle dates back to the 1200s and has a long history of ghostly activity. The most famous of them is the Green Lady who has been seen by dozens of people, and even has the castle's bar named after her.

    What do you think??

    My Pet Fat!

Thursday, May 29, 2008, 04:24 PM CST [General]

This is the weird thing I got Keith for his birthday.  A visual reminder of what an ounce of fat looks like so he won't lose sight of healthy eating and gain his weight back that he fought so hard to take off.  It looks creepy - I think that is why it will work!  It somes in an ounce, a pound of 5 pounds.  It's weird, but I think it is brilliant!   Check it out!

1 pound of Pet Fat (3500 calories - 1 pound of fat!)

1 ounce of Pet Fat with convenient carrying case!

     Here's a 5 pounder!  It's HUGE!  And disgusting!!!!

Here's an example of the screensavers Keith can put on his cell phone to remind him how hard he will have to work to keep the extra calories away.  One cheeseburger = 59 minutes on the treadmill!  YIKES

Yes, you can buy a Bacon Tuxedo for those special bacon occasions.

Uncle Oinker's Bacon Scented Bacon Print Tuxedo. You can get married in bacon, get confirmed in bacon or go to the Oscars in bacon!  Wait until Joan Rivers gets a whiff of you. Each Tuxedo is tailored from chemically treated latex print fabric in one of four different sizes. Best of all, it smells just like bacon sizzling in the pan. Dry clean only.
