I had such an exciting weekend! First, the Chocolate Extravaganza on Saturday was really neat. I didn't even get a chance to see it all but enjoyed what I did see. It's amazing what can be done with chocolate! Amazingly I only had one piece. Shocking, I know.
On Sunday, I helped the Twin City Bridal Association give away a $150 thousand wedding at their Engagement Party event! The happy couple, Mike and Katie from Apple Valley, couldn't have been more deserving or excited! From the looks of this photo, she is ready to faint!
Katie couldn't gat ahold of her family to tell them, then when she did...they didn't believe her! (It is an amazing thing to win so I'd have a hard time believing it too!)
After the Engagement Party, I had the honor of hosting the first annual ICON awards, honoring people in the wedding industry. I got to get all fancied up, got my hair and makeup done by the pros and everything. I even got to wear REAL diamonds. There is a company called www.yours4theday.com where you can rent real diamond jewelry for special occasions. Pretty smart if you want to look sassy for an event but its not like you can afford to drop thousands of buck for a look you'd only wear once, right? I loved these drop earrings the best and the necklace was really pretty too.
Major eyelashes, no?
Here I am with The Wedding Guys (Bruce, left and Matthew, right) The two girls were the "award babes"for the night. In the black is Nicole, whom I am pretty sure thinks I am a freak because I kept petting her faux fur coat. In the gold dress is Phibian, who looks like an award herself in that dress. She is the prettiest girl I think I have ever seen in real life. When we took the photo I suggested the girls stick their stomachs out as fas as possible while I held mine in. I think they thought I was joking. In addition to hosting, I gave the award for best cakes (of course)!
Below are some photos of displays from the people involved in the Engagement Party/ICON Awards. Great and amazing ideas for weddings - I don't know how they come up with these incredible things! Makes my wedding seem like it was planned by hobos!
This "table" is suspended with gorgeous ribbon!
Those are rose petals in between the glass of the tables.
Glowing flame inside the cube table!

Cool martini bar.
This is the chandalier behind the bar!
The bride and grooms names are on the mirrored stools and you can't see it but in the center square is a water fountain!
You look so hot Staci! Love the dress and I REALLY love those earings! hehe
