I went to the Twin Cities Bridal Association's Trend Wedding 2008 on Friday night. I got to be there when the couple, Jessica and Gary, won the 100 thousand dollar prize wedding. They were so excited - the bride was shaking like a leaf! I brought my camera but didn't want to be intrusive on the ceremony so let me try to paint a picture!
The room in the Metropolitan Ballroom where the ceemony took place was all soft white. The walls and ceiling were made of white chiffon. The floor was covered in white carpet, the chairs were all clear with each guests name printed on the back. At the front where the bride and groom stood was a mirrored pedestal that held a gorgeous peacock ice sculpture. The feathers of the ice peacock were made up of delicate white flowers and albino peacock feathers (flown in from paraguay or something!) that cascaded to the floor.
I sneaked a photo of the other guests through the mirrored pedestal!
You can see the albino feathers among the flowers....
Here was my seat!...My name and the wedding design that echoed throughout the evening were on the back rest of the chair. Cool!
Here is the pretty program...
Chris Atkinson sang and played guitar. Very sweet.
A clear lucite table of these candles were on each side of the ice sculpture. They looked like they were floating.
When Jessica, the bride, came down the aisle to the music "Fairy Dance", she looked unbelieveable! She looked like a fairy herself (she is a tiny thing)! When she came down the aisle you heard this musical tinkling...it came from the crystals that were dangling from her bouquet and make the whole moment seem really magical. Just when it couldn't get more fantastic there was white FOG that drifted into the room and swirled around the feet of the wedding party!!

This was projected onto the dance floor in the Metropolitan's Night Club room for the reception. Pretty!
Then, during the champagne, an aerialist came over and performed for us! Very Cirque du Soleil! I just hope my camera flash didn't blind the poor thing!
I met very the fun Nicole at the wedding. She was fun to talk to. Tony & I also had big fun eating with the Pastor Joe Anderson and his wife Jennifer. They were young and funny. They have some amazing stories to tell!
Here I am with evil red flash eyes toasting the bride and groom with my diet coke. There were chic comfy little places to park yourself with cool pillows right across from the bar.
The same crystals in the bride's bouquet were on the lamps on the dinner tables.
And then, my camera batteries died!
I took this photo the next morning...we all get this goodie bag gift as we left the reception for the night! (yes, I ate all of it myself!)
If you watch the video you'll be able to see more awesome stuff, including the incredible chocolate raspberry wedding cake unveiled in a special red room that looked like the inside of a velvet jewelry box! And the super cool coffee lounge after the dance with the really good live band. (I couldn't stay that late....I'm getting too old...but I did sneak a peek at the coffee lounge before I left.)
It was such a cool wedding I told my husband I want to get married again!
It is our 5 year anniversary this July 26th, afterall! Hmm.....
