I have to admit, this season i am over American Idol. I think it is way past its prime. What does everyone else think?

To be honest, I was over it halfway through the first episode. It can go away, and i dont think I'd notice but for the absence of "Idol" chatter. |

I will tune in when I'm putzing around the house, but in all honesty, I think they've gone to the well too many times with this one. What really got to me was a comment that Simon made very early on this season, while arguing the audience's opinion of a performance. Simon said something to the effect of, "We are looking for a recording artist, not some two-bit performer who will sing a theme at Disneyland". And my response to that is - if it's a recording artist Simon and company is after, then why are they leaving it up to the public to pick one - when the public in general is not exactly industry-savy? I hope this is their last season. I think they should put Kent Hrbek's Great Outdoors in that time slot! *giggles* |

I love watching the audition shows of American Idol, because some of those people make me cry laughing! The rest of it is boring now. There are a lot of talented singers that don't get through, and I think if Simon wasn't mean or Paula didn't act like she was on something all the time... the show wouldn't be as entertaining. I'm sure a lot of us don't need to watch tv in order to find talented singers. I think most of the artists out there didn't have to go through a competition like this in order to get their name out there. |
