Did Oprah Miss the Mark with Jenny McCarthy?
I was looking forward to yesterday's Oprah show with Jenny McCarthy about her new book, 'Mother Warriors.' Oprah had advertised that Jenny would be on and talking about autism and the mothers that are healing their chldren. I watched and watched and 35 minutes into the hour long show it finally got around to Jenny and her book. Then Oprah had to read the disclaimer from the American Board of Pediatrics. Jenny challenged it and then they went to commercials. Oprah came back, talked with Jenny about 'strong mothers' fighting for their kids...commercial break. Then Oprah yells with excitement that Jim Carrey is here!! Jim Carrey comes out. He was wonderful. Talked about how courageous Jenny is, other mothers and being a father figure to a child with/healing from autism. Commercials again...Good bye Jenny and oh by the way you can talk to her online tonight. That was it!!
I am so disappointed in the way that Oprah handled things. It felt like she wanted to interview the mother who suffered terribly from the flesh eating virus and just needed an excuse to tie it into Jenny's book. Wonderful story about an amazing woman from Boston, but not what she said the show was about. If anyone was tuning in to hear and learn more about autism and the healing that is going on, they would have missed it. Oprah did a great disservice to the viewers and all parents of children with autism.
As for Jenny, she rocked as usual. I love that she is taking on vaccines fairly and giving hope to all parents with children on the ASD spectrum. We hope to have her on with us sometime in the next 2 weeks.

Pictures of Celebrity Plane Crash...

FULL UPDATE ON TRAVIS BARKER AND DJ AM PLANE CRASH
A few hours after performing in South Carolina on Saturday, former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM were critically injured in a Learjet crash that killed four people.
Officials said the plane was departing when air traffic controllers reported seeing sparks. National Transportation Safety Board investigators say it was a blown tire that caused the plane to go off the end of a runway, and crash through antennas and a fence. It stopped a quarter-mile away on an embankment across a highway and was in flames.
Travis and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein), were in critical but stable condition at a burn center in Georgia.
Two other passengers - 29 year old Chris Baker of Studio City, California and 25 year old Charles Still of Los Angeles - died. So did the pilot and co-pilot.
The plane was headed for California. Officials recovered the cockpit voice recorder but have not analyzed it.
Travis and DJ AM had performed together as TRVSDJ-AM at a free concert on Friday night.
