Mother Warriors by Jenny McCarthy: Book Cover

Join us tomorrow morning as we talk to Jenny McCarthy in the 8 o'clock hour.  She is calling us around 8:15ish.  As many of you know, this interview means a lot to me with Aleks' recent diagnosis of autism.  Jenny's book, 'Louder than Words' was the first book I read regarding autism.  It was my personal launching pad into the autism world.  I'm looking forward to talking with her and learning more from her.  For me, she is one of my personal heros.

Since 2002 I've read daily about autism and vaccines. I've come to understand the politics keeping children from receiving biomedical treatments, and hindering efforts to study vaccine injury. Ironically resistance comes most from people with good intentions -- who want to prevent disease but fail to factor in biodiversity. I know children whose biopsies show vaccine-strain measles in lesions lining their GI tracts. Children with mitochondrial dysfunction manifested after vaccination. Children with toxic levels of metals such as mercury. Traditional medicine has been very slow to examine environmental toxins in our children, especially those used in medical products. Critical thinking means pursuing all theories, no matter where they lead. Thousands of cases in the Federal Autism Omnibus Proceedings since 2001 should give the CDC a clue that our nation's vaccine program needs restructuring. No child should be written off as collateral damage in the war on disease.

My name is Patricia T. and I have a strong belief that autism and asbergers may both be caused by an autoimmune response to one of the diseases in childhood vaccinations similar to what happens to children who have PANDAS, or Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections. When children with Pandas are exposed to Strep-throat, they produce so many anti-bodies that they actually turn on their bodies and attack their brains, resulting in tourettes, obsessive compulsive disorder, and/or other anxiety based disorders. The anecdotal evidence of parents of noticable change in behavior in their children after each immunization seems very similar to that of children with Pandas. I was wondering if Ms. McCarthy or anyone else had heard of any theories similar to this.
