    No More Speedos...Please!!!

Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 09:47 AM CST [General]

Fined for wearing a speedo!  Yep...An elderly Florida man says he's been wearing his Speedo out on the beach for years without any complaints, when one day he gets a fine for trespassing.  Trespassing = Wearing his Speedo.   Even though a judge tossed the case, 'Beach Bob Hezzelwood' says he is going to sue because his civil rights were violated.

As far as Speedos...unless you are competing as an athlete or wearing one for swimming laps PLEASE leave the Speedos at home.  It always seems that the ones wearing the Speedos shouldn't be.  The ones who could, don't.  I don't think 'Beach Bob' deserved a ticket for the Speedo, but I also don't want to see him in one.  Live and let live.  I may HATE Speedos but I'd also hate to think that police are now acting as fashion police.  If Speedos get ticketed then please start ticketing the women in thong bikinis.  Yuck...I'm not a prude but I don't want to see someone's bare butt cheek's on the beach.

How Much Should a Stay At Home Mom Make?

Friday, May 9, 2008, 10:04 AM CST [General]

Stay at home moms should be paid $117,000 a year for all they do.  That's according to www.salary.com that broke down all the different jobs that a mom does added in salaries, overtime and came up with a worth of $117,000.

I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom for a couple of months last summer.  I can honestly say that stay at home mothers earn every penny of the above salary.  What I found, is that stay at home mothers tend to take on all the home responsibilities.  It's not just about being a mom, it's also a housekeeper, driver, accountant, teacher and manager.  It's hard work, but worth every minute of it.  I also have to give the facts on the second part of this story, that is to mother's who work outside of the home.  In addition to their M-F job, they(we) are also working our butts off at home.  The average working mother also puts in another 54.6 hours of 'mom work' at home and that equates to a part-time salary of $68,405 annually!

Greg and I received a text this morning (75617) that said that moms should stop complaining.  What?!  I don't think any mother is complaining, just stating the facts.  Being a mother is a job, but also a privledge that every mom I know loves.  It's the longest hours, the toughest job and also the best job in the world

    Happy Mother's Day!!

PS - Happy Mother's Day to my Mom (see below)...love you!

Hey Melissa. We are moving out to Western Minnesota. Its a very small town, only 507 for a population! That's the good thing about raising a little one in a small town!! Any luck with the tickets for Bill? I sent you a text message earlier today letting you know that if you need/want a babysitter for Alix friday I am free. No, Im not a freak! If you want to check me out, I do have an add on Care.com. It's a great site to look for sitters in your area. You can run a background check on your sitter, check references... you know, the whole nine yards! Just thought I would run it by you!!
