3 Doors Down released their 4th studio album on May 20th. The self-titled release debuted at #1. The critics love it and I agree! Check out the track listing and a sample of a few of the songs.
Here's an unusual combination...Nelly Furtado and Keith Urban!
The song "In God's Hands" originally came out on Furtado's 2006 CD, "Loose." Now she has teamed up with Keith Urban and re-cut a new duet version of the song. This new (and I'd say improved) version isn't available on CD right now, but the folks at Furtado's record label say that if the song becomes a hit, they'll add it to future shipments of the "Loose" CD. Many music critics have compared One Republic to both U2 and Coldplay. That's not bad company to be in, especially when you hear about the band's long road to success. Founding members Ryan Redder and Zach Filkins got together in their hometown of Colorado Springs in 2002. After moving to Los Angeles, they experienced many ups and downs. They signed and lost a record deal and like a lot of acts these days, found fans on MySpace. That lead to another record deal and world-wide success! Their CD "Dreaming Out Loud" is great and "Stop and Stare" is one of my favorites!

I am ready for summer and I'm ready for a great summer song! And I think Kid Rock is the man to do it!
Kid Rock is an interesting guy. He's a Detroit native who left home at the age of 15. He pops up in the news with stories of his marriage to Pamela Anderson and fights at the Waffle House. But at the core of it, I think he is an incredibly talented musician!
This song will probably sound very familiar to you. Why? Kid Rock borrows from a couple of classics...‘Werewolves of London" and Sweet Home Alabama."

One more note...Kid Rock just announced a show here in the Twin Cities. He'll play Taget Center on May 24th with his Rock 'n' Roll Revival Tour. I have heard it is an amazing concert with a lot of special guests.
You may have heard this song on a TV commercial. It’s the one for a jewelry store where the man and woman are driving along and he slips a fabulous diamond necklace into her hand while this song plays in the background. I’m not sure if I like the song just because I like the idea of someone slipping me diamonds, or if it really is a great song. It’s slow in tempo, but really hypnotic and once it gets in my head, I can’t stop humming it! Listen to it and let me know what you think. Leave me a comment below and tell me if you like it and want to hear it on KS95.

It’s pretty rare that one band could have two of my favorite songs at the same time, but Finger Eleven has done it! I still crank up Paralyzer ever time I hear it and now I’m a huge fan of “I’ll Keep Your Memory Vague.” One of the best things about this band is that from song to song, you never know what kind of sound to expect. We just started playing this one on KS95 a little while ago, so I’d love to know if you like it as much as I do. Whether you like it or not, speak up by commenting below.
