I met Bill Murray last night and he signed my BALL! Look!

Wednesday, July 23, 2008, 09:56 AM CST [General]

I got to throw out the first pitch at the American Association All-Star Game last night at Mid-Way Stadium! Home of the St. Paul Saints! (Threw a strike which you can see in video form on the KS95 main page)

I was just standing next to the dugout under the bleachers before the game and none other than Bill Murray was standing right behind me. (Pictures of that coming too!)

You know that uncomfortable small talk you always make with celebrities when you meet them? I fell victim to that too, but he did sign the first pitch baseball that I threw out. What a nice guy! Thanks again Bill!

2008 is the year of the Cougar! Read all about it ladies!

Wednesday, July 23, 2008, 09:15 AM CST [General]

Congratulations ladies...now it's us fellas talking behind your back saying things like, "He must be 1/2 her age!" It's the year of the cougar and I say, "Hear you ROAR girl!"  There's no more sitting around with couch potatoes and spending weekends at the supermarket buying Ben Gay. But that means if my wife ever leaves me then all I have are the Estelle Gettys of the world....er...what? She just died?

The senior vice president and general manager of Match.com North America says, "It's the woman who is going for the younger guy."

Stats show-- Women age 50 and older almost always tell eHarmony.com that they want a younger man -- 10, 15 years younger, sometimes more. And on Match.com, a 50-year-old woman is typically seeking a man who is 48.

The change is linked to the new biology of aging. Women, according to calculations based on mortality risk, are five years "younger" than men the same age.

The 65-year-old woman is the biological equivalent of a 60-year-old man. So it's sensible, for a woman to look for a younger guy.

But there's a problem: The men don't get it. They are stuck in the old biology of aging. They, too, are looking for younger partners.

On eHarmony.com, men 50 and older are seeking women who are six to 26 years younger. On Match.com, the average 56-year-old man is looking for a 54-year-old woman. Seems reasonable, but by the time he reaches 70, he wants a 58-year-old woman.

~~ Gender equality in the search for younger partners is creating a mating gap in gray love. A 70-year-old woman is looking for a 66-year-old man. The 65-year-old man is looking for the 54-year-old woman. And a 56-year-old woman is looking for a man who is 46!

How does anybody hook up in later life with these wide differences in what men and women want?

Turns out, age is not the most important issue in a relationship. At eHarmony, members are matched according to psychological profile and personality characteristics. What are your values? Are you an extrovert? Are you open to new experiences, or do you prefer to stick with what you know?

When two people find common ground in their values, interests and personality traits, "there is less need to negotiate differences. A lot less emotional wear and tear". There's "an implicit level of understanding."

There is also a difference in what people say they want and what they end up finding. On eHarmony, members are encouraged to report when they are dating seriously or are getting married. Of those who share their success stories, nearly one in four involves a partner age 50 or older.

Here's what the inside of my refrigerator looks like!!!

Thursday, July 17, 2008, 09:50 AM CST [General]

     What's in your fridge?

Fridgewatcher.com posts pictures of regular folks' fridges. Contributors have been sending fridge photos from all over the world.

    http://www.fridgewatcher.com/

There's something fun and pleasantly deviant about looking behind other people's closed doors. Well, sometimes. I don't consider myself a snoop, but I have popped open a friend's medicine cabinet or two. That alone probably will never get me another invite over to my homey's cribs!!!

So here's a little payback...most of the stuff you see is Caley's. All I need is a freezer. My beer fridge is pictured below!

Have a great day...tomorrow is Friday! And I will see YOU on the radio!

This is my favorite photo of the week! Why it can suck to be rich...

Tuesday, July 15, 2008, 09:27 AM CST [General]

Apparantly it's not always fun to be famous, good looking and rich. I saw this in US Magazine. A-Rod would probably like to wish he was playing a home game although he passed up last night's All-Star Home Run Derby. (We'll see what tonight's crowd reaction will be like at Yankee Stadium for the All-Star game.)
