Imagine the anxiety and fear if you couldn't take a full breath of air.
I know I take my lungs for granted except in those cases when I'm working out or I'm around smoke.
For thousands of Minnesotans, getting air is a matter of life and death every day.
Saturday I was the emcee of the Fight For Air Climb 2010 at Accenture Tower in Minneapolis. Thanks to the hundreds of people who made the climb on behalf of those helped by the American Lung Association of Minnesota. Also, thanks to the 24 fire crews (men AND women) who hauled their fire gear up EVERY stair. All 60 flights! We'll see you next year at the 2011 Fight For Air Climb!!!!
Any fire should be very afraid of these men in Coon Rapids
Beginning their ascent up 30 floors, 60 flights, and 660 stairs!
The countdown has begun!
Here's team Sophia. She's the one in mom's arms. She has a form of cystic fibrosis and everyone climbed in her honor on Saturday morning.
"Man, do I gotta PEE!"
