Do you know how to tell if your dog is stressed out. Woof.
We had so much show today I promised to carry this over to my blog and here it is!
Don Hanson is a dog behavior consultant from Bangor, Maine. Basically, that means he studies the way dogs behave in order to understand how they communicate with humans and other dogs.
--According to Don, dogs . . . just like people . . . can get stressed out. And the MOST common reason dogs get stressed is because humans don't know how to communicate with them.
--When a dog becomes stressed out, it can get aggressive. According to Don, people get bitten because they don't recognize when their dog is becoming stressed . . . and that's a problem.
--So what are some signs that YOUR dog might be stressed out?
--Excessive sniffing
--Excessive yawning
--Averting its eyes
--Licking its nose
--Squinting
--Excessive scratching (Bangor Daily News)
****I'm not sure about my dogs, but now I know why I'm stressed!
